It’s not every day that you get a call from halfway across the state asking you to collaborate on transforming a broken down Airstream into a pristine, vintage inspired wedding boutique. You don’t turn down a call like that!
My new friend Ashley Morra, a veteran of the wedding industry, decided she wanted to take this:

And put a new spin on weddings.
Ashley has created Ida Lou Weddings, a mobile wedding boutique that can host bridal showers, serve as a hub for wedding shopping and provide an on-the-spot dressing area for the big day itself. She’s a genius!

Ashley has collected pristine, vintage wedding gowns, party dresses and gorgeous antique jewelry for sale to those who might want a little something different for their celebration. She’s also gathered vintage dress patterns to be brought back to life by a team of seamstresses.
I was thrilled to help her turn what was a fairly icky trailer into a retro, girly boudoir where Doris Day in her heyday would have been proud to powder her nose and stash her pearls.
Feast your eyes:

Beautiful Ashley in all her 50s finery!

Dressing area.

Seating for the ladies.

Ashley even let me get in on the game when she invited me to be a part of one of her photoshoots! What felt like 5 bottles of hairspray went into transforming me from “girl who wears jeans everyday” to a perfectly ladylike vision of June Cleaver. Fun to put on those shoes for a bit but I have to admit, my hair did not move for the first five minutes of my shower. It takes work to get that look going people!

Be sure to check out her website and book this trailer if you are in the triangle area!
